How Stress Impacts Sleep, Weight, and Reproductive Health
Stress affects multiple systems in the body, including sleep, metabolism, and reproductive health. When stress becomes chronic, it can interfere with the body’s natural sleep cycle, making it harder to fall or stay asleep. Poor sleep can then lead to fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and increased stress levels, creating a cycle that is difficult to break.
Stress can also influence weight by increasing cortisol levels, which may lead to overeating and fat storage. In addition, long-term stress has been linked to reproductive challenges, including irregular menstrual cycles and difficulty getting pregnant. Managing stress through relaxation techniques, regular exercise, and healthy sleep habits can help improve overall health and reduce these risks.
