Retirees: Life Changes

Although, the Retiree Option Change Period (ROCP) gives Retirees the opportunity to change their Plan Option to any Plan Option for which the Retiree is eligible, Retirees cannot increase their Tier, meaning Retirees cannot add dependents during the ROCP.   

However, if you experience a Qualifying Event or Special Enrollment Event during the Plan Year (January 1 – December 31), you may be eligible to make a change to your SHBP coverage that is consistent with changes in your life.
