SHBP BENPRO Conference FAQs

All Benefits Professionals who administer SHBP benefits to their employees, as well as their Human Resources, Finance and Payroll Counterparts and HRIS IT Staff. More importantly, the Benefit Professionals who conduct day-to-day benefits administration functions for SHBP benefits should attend.

The cost is $299.00 per person to attend. 

• All educational sessions, including SHRM applicable sessions, where attendees may earn SHRM credits.
• Complimentary breakfast, coffee, snacks and lunch.
• Course Materials Book for all educational sessions.
• The popular BENPRO Swag bag packed with tools and gifts for use during the conference and after.

The State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. We are currently finalizing the number of credits to be offered during the 2023 BENPRO Conference. More information coming soon.

The registration deadline is scheduled to close 12:00 am EST, Friday, August 18, 2023. Registration will continue on a first come, first serve basis, so please register as soon as possible.

Final payments are due by Friday, August 18, 2023.

Yes, payment by check from your Employing Entity are acceptable. Personal Checks will not be accepted.

Check Registrations: If you choose to pay by check, your registration status will show as “Pending” in the registration site, and will not be considered a “Confirmed” registration until the check is received by SHBP.

Checks must be received within five (5) calendar days of your completed registration, which will place your registration in a Confirmed status. Failure to submit your check within five (5) calendar days will result in automatic cancellation of your registration.

Checks should be made payable to “State Health Benefit Plan”, with reference in memo section to “2023 SHBP BENPRO Conference.” Checks should be mailed to:  SHBP Division, 2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SE, East Tower-19 Floor, Atlanta, GA  30334.

Please include a copy of your confirmation with payment for referencing your registration.

Deadline for Check Registrations: Registrations paid by check must be received no later than Friday, August 18, 2023 at 5:00 pm EST.

Payments by check are currently available.

Payments by Visa, MasterCard, Discover and AMEX credit cards are now available.

Cancellations and refund of conference cost will not be offered for the 2023 SHBP BENPRO Conference. 

You may substitute another individual for the same event date and location without incurring additional cancellation fees by contacting the SHBP BENPRO Team at [email protected] for assistance, if needed. All substitution requests must be received no later than 11:59pm EST, Sunday, August 20, 2023.  The date/time of the substitution request will determine the date/time stamp for substitution purposes.

For your comfort, business casual attire is appropriate. We suggest you dress in layers as the temperature may vary. Average temperatures range in the high 80s to 90s during the day and mid 70s in the evening. It is suggested that you bring a sweater for the classrooms.

The BENPRO Conference is a “closed conference”. This means that only employers in our database will be able to register. If you belong to an SHBP Employing Entity, please email the below information to [email protected]:

SHBP is planning for the BENPRO Conference to be an annual event based on the level of participation and the educational benefit to attendees. Therefore, please encourage your fellow Benefits Professionals to attend.

Please note that photographs and footage will be taken throughout the 2023 Benpro Conference. These will be used by the State Health Benefit Plan for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in social media or in any third-party publication.

Employers may access the 2023 BENPRO Conference Session Materials by downloading the file housed in the SHBP State Health Repository Tool (SHRT) and located in your "Additional SHRT Instructions" folder.
