Terminating Employment

Upon termination, an Active Member’s coverage ends the last day of the following month after the Termination Date or Last Date of Deduction reported by their Employer.  For example, if your Employer reports your Term Date or Last Date of Deduction to SHBP as 1/10/2021, your coverage as an Active Member will end 2/28/2021.

Active Members who terminate employment with an SHBP Employing Entity and who are ineligible for retirement or choose to delay their retirement have options to extend their SHBP coverage after employment.
